Tennis: City hit back for draw

Despite their first pair of Mike Millar and Nilay Hazari winning two-and-a-half rubbers, their teammates struggled against a consistent Banbury side.

Although the home side won ten games less over the course of the afternoon, it was City had had to come from 3 -2 behind going into the final three rubbers to snatch a point.

North Oxford B made it two wins from two with a 7-2 triumph over Cholsey.

North Oxford A struggled to a 5 -3 win over Cholsey in Ladies Division 1.

Amy Shepheard and Maddy Mitchell led the way at first pair, winning two-and-a-half rubbers.

In the 2-Pair League, Benson's top pair of Maxine Perkins and Sam Quin won both rubbers as their side beat Abingdon 2 -1 in Ladies' Division 1.

There were no such problems for Banbury West End, who thumped Thame 4-0.
