Time is running out for Mike Dandridge, the man responsible for the postponed Andrea Bocelli concert in Oxford, to announce a new date for the event.

The concert, which was due to take place at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow (Sat30), was postponed last week 12 hours after Mr Dandridge, of the Very Impressive Party Company (Vipco), told the Oxford Mail it would be going ahead "110 per cent".

He vowed another date would be rescheduled in 10 days' time -- by today (Fri 29).

But yesterday, Mr Dandridge could not give any clues as to whether he was any closer to finalising another date.

All he said was: "You will be given a written statement when the date is set."

When asked what he thought about the hundreds of disappointed fans who are concerned about their money, he said: "I am sure they are concerned, but everything is fine."

He has refused to issue refunds, telling ticket holders to wait for a new date.

But it has emerged that many people who bought tickets as long ago as February, have still not got them.

One Oxford woman, who did not want to be named, said she bought two £80 tickets the day they went on sale, but almost three months later she has nothing to show for it.

She said: "Over the past few weeks I have grown increasingly concerned about where the tickets are and have left message after message for Vipco. Eventually I got hold of someone and they said my tickets were being processed. That was a few weeks ago, before any of this trouble began. But I still don't have my tickets. I'm very annoyed."

Lynda Perry and husband Ronald, of Didcot, were looking forward to seeing Mr Bocelli in concert with two friends.

Mrs Perry, 62, said she was concerned they might not be able to make a date in June or July. The couple are also angry that VIPCO has been "sitting on their money" since February, when they bought the £50 tickets and paid another £16 in booking fees.

Nick Trown, of Clanfield, paid for four £50 tickets on February 14 -- but was only sent two. "With booking fees included, I paid a total of £216 for four tickets but only received two," he said.

"What will happen now -- will they issue me with the other two worthless tickets?

"It is doubtful my friends will be able to make a second trip from Cornwall and as I frequently work away from home it is unlikely a June or July date will be suitable."
