Oxford Caribbean will go into the new OCA League campaign as hot favourites to retain their crown.

Caribbean eased to the title last season, losing just once in 18 games, with Eddie Howard and Dave Prosper the mainstays of a strong batting line-up for the Horspath Road-based club.

They start with a trip to Great Horwood.

Westbury, under new captain Tom Boardman, will hope to overhaul Caribbean after missing out last year.

Richard Tredwell, who stepped down as skipper, is staying on as vice-captain, and Westbury will once again rely on his consistent performances with both bat and ball.

They are at home to Witney Swifts tomorrow.

Swifts, who finished third last year, will be hoping to add some silverware to their trophy cabinet.

They haven't made any significent signings during the close season, but have a wealth of experience.

Jason Seacole is a stalwart with the bat, while Alan Williams and Omar Hussain should shine with the ball.

Hook Norton's young and talented outfit will hope to push on from their mid-table finish from last season.

Promoted Minster Lovell have been hit by their captain Bill Bowman quitting on the eve of the season to join Shipton-under-Wychwood in the Cherwell League.

But they have signed up Australian left-arm spinner Jordan Waugh, who they acquired after meeting him on their tour Down Under before Christmas.

Waugh is also handy with the bat and is capable of scoring runs at a rapid rate.

Twyford will once again rely on the talents of Pakistani batsman Haroon Malik, who returns to the club for his third year.

Malik has set the OCA alight with his blistering knocks over the last two seasons, and was a leading light in Twyford's Division 2 championship campaign last season.

Youngster Sam Lyon has left to join Bicester & North Oxford.

Freeland, who won the Airey Cup last season with a tremendous victory over Oxford Caribbean, could have a difficult year after losing two of their stars.

OCA young player of the year Stuart Hole has left to join his brother Simon at Shipton, while young Oxfordshire wicket-keeper Jamie Perkin has signed up for Oxford Downs.

Tetsworth get their campaign under way at home to Garsington.

The OCA League has expanded to ten divisions this year to accommodate several new teams who have entered, including Chalgrove, who rejoin from the Cherwell League in Division 7.
