Banbury Utd 0, Gloucester City 0: Having secured their Southern League Premier Division status the previous week, the pressure was off Banbury on Saturday - but they failed to celebrate in front of a bumper crowd of 718.
Kevin Brock's side did not have a worthwhile shot in the first half, while they had keeper Simon Tricker to thank again for an instinctive save in the 25th minute from Jimmy Cox's point-blank header.
It was the same story in the second half, with City just edging matters.
Banbury went close in the 60th minute when Howard Forinton had a fierce drive blocked, while at the other end, Tricker saved well from Thompson.
Before the game, Jody McKay was presented with a memento for breaking the Banbury United appearance record, formerly held by Dave Matthews, when he reached 572 appearances last week.
After the game, Forinton was awarded the supporters' player of the season trophy.
Banbury: Tricker, Robinson, Burnham, Sullivan, Essex (Allen 46), Pond, Stanbridge, Blossom (McKay 55), Forinton, Redknap, Potter (Jackson 65).
Attendance: 718.
