A 62-year-old woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act after she barricaded herself inside a property in Wardington and threatened to take her own life.
It is thought the woman had a gun.
Police officers and the force helicopter were called to the village, just outside Banbury, at 12.15pm today and negotiators talked the woman into coming out at about 2.30pm.
It is not known whether anyone else was involved in the incident.
