HEALTH chiefs are set to ask developers to come up with designs for the replacement of Bicester’s hospital.
NHS Oxfordshire has produced a planning framework detailing what should be included within the town’s new primary care centre.
Last week, Bicester Community Hospital Engagement Forum, the community group set up to work with NHS Oxfordshire on the new building, was given the first glimpse at rough plans of two sites which could be used for the development.
The locations are at the hospital’s current site, in Kings End, and on land off Oxford and Middleton Stoney roads. Several surveys looking at ecology and archaeology have been done at both sites.
The new primary care centre will have all the existing healthcare services, including a first aid unit and X-ray services, and 12 beds, which could be provided in a local nursing home.
