OXFORD University Chancellor Lord Patten met the Queen at a ceremony to present a prize to the university’s Bodleian Library and library service.
The Queen’s Anniversary Prize, presented at Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty and Prince Philip, marked the university’s collections as being “an asset for the university, the community and the nation, and representing and safeguarding areas of international heritage which are of pre-eminent quality and status”.
The prize is awarded every two years to academic institutions for “outstanding accomplishment and benefit of work”.
