A PENSIONER has been accused of causing the death of a 32-year-old English teacher from Oxford.

Ellie Bongers, from North Oxford, died in hospital on Christmas Eve, four days after a crash on the A4260 near Tackley on Sunday, December 20.

Mrs Bongers was a teacher at Lord Williams’s School, Thame, and her 15-month-old son Joseph, who was also in the car, remains at the John Radcliffe Hospital in a critical condition.

Police today revealed officers arrested a 71-year-old woman on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on Saturday, February 6.

The woman has been released on bail until March 19.
