Thousands of pounds of jewellery was stolen from two neighbouring village homes, police said today.

The burglaries happened between 9am and 3.30pm in Leys View, Langford, on Tuesday, February 16.

Burglars forced their way inside and carried out a messy search of both houses.

They stole cash, watches, rings, bracelets and earrings believed to total more than £3,000.

PC Thomas Smalley said: “I would ask that anyone with information come forward and speak to us to help us with our investigation.

“I would also urge people to be vigilant to this type of offence and ensure they are taking every precaution to protect their homes. Don’t leave doors and windows open or unlocked, never leave keys in the door and try to keep any valuables out of sight.”
