TRIBUTES were paid last night to a devoted father and his four-year-old son who were killed when their car crashed into a tree.

Kitchen fitter Tony Eldridge, 36, and son Bradley, four, died at the scene after the accident in Bucknell Road, Bicester, at about 8.15pm on Wednesday.

Tributes have been laid at the scene where the white Subaru Impreza that Mr Eldridge was driving hit the tree.

Police investigating the cause of the crash are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A photograph of Bradley was pinned to a tree and friends and family laid flowers, cards and a teddy bear by the roadside.

One message reads: “Sweet dreams my little man, you will be missed every second of the day, love Harrison.”

Carl Ellis, 26, had employed Mr Eldridge for the past six months at Pristine Kitchens.

Speaking at the crash scene he said: “Tony was a hard worker. He’d be in early and finish late.

“The customers loved him and he loved work.

“I feel devastated. He wasn’t just a work colleague, he was my mate. Tony was everyone’s friend and everyone liked him. All he wanted to do was to work hard and spend his money on his kids who he loved.

“I met Bradley once and he was a brilliant kid. He had long curly hair and was a lively little toddler. It’s so sad. It’s devastating for the family.”

Mr Eldridge was a father-of-three who lived and worked in Bicester as a kitchen fitter for many years, he added.

Formal identification of the father and son was due to take place last night.

Police spokesman David Staines said officers investigating the crash did not believe any other vehicle was involved and no one had been arrested.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or was driving on Bucknell Road and saw the vehicle involved, should contact Pc Chris Jones at Thames valley Police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
