Today we can finally publish the photograph of a teenager, who threatened to kill a neighbour, after winning a legal battle in court.

We have been banned from publishing the picture of Sandeep Kumar, 14, who lives in East Oxford, after he was given an Antisocial Behaviour Order in November.

We submitted to the court that the public should be allowed to know the face of anyone with an Asbo so they could tell the police if that person was breaching the order.

Last Wednesday, Oxford Youth Court ruled we should be allowed to publish Kumar's picture because it was in the public interest.

However Kumar's legal team immediately appealed to Oxford Crown Court and won a ruling from Judge Julian Hall blocking publication.

We submitted to Judge Hall that he had no power to overturn the magistrates' decision and prevent the newspaper publishing the photograph.

He agreed that only the Queen's Bench Divisional Court had that power and his order ended.

Kumar was sentenced last Wednesday to an 18-month rehabilitation order and ordered to wearing an electronic tag after admitting breaching his Asbo twice and two public order offences.
