Having been bitterly disappointed as Oxford United seemingly blew a great away win, as I’m sure most supporters were, I was even more shocked by the antics of a minority of moronic Luton supporters.

The courts have issued banning orders on United fans who committed the terrible crime of going on to the pitch during the Northwich Victoria home match.

There was no trouble and no aggression, just a mini pitch invasion.

I also remember recent threats from football authorities who were going to penalise United if a fan threw a smoke bomb on to the field – hardly the worse crime. The penalty included the possible loss of points.

While I do not condone either actions, how does this compare to the morons in the Luton stand who attacked their own stewards, and the police that came to the stewards’ aid. The result was four police officers injured.

I also remember moronic Luton fans, (a minority, it has to be said) who tried causing trouble in the game at the Kassam Stadium.

On both occasions Oxford had the audacity to take the lead, something, alas, we couldn’t hold on to this time.

Any sound-minded person will surely see a vast difference in these actions.

Luton got away with the Kassam fiasco without so much as a murmur from the Blue Square Premier or the FA.

We now understand a brick broke a United supporters’ coach window, God only knows how that could have ended.

So what punishment, if any, will be dished out? Why couldn’t the morons who caused trouble at the Kassam have banning orders; I can guarantee it was the same idiots.

I only know one thing: Chris Wilder, for heaven’s sake, you’ve got to get us out of this league, now!
