Sir – I feel compelled to write to you following my return trip from Witney RFC to home. At two points on this journey I was at risk of a serious accident because of the incompetent driving of others. One incident involved a white van driver who came charging down the hill towards Crawley and kept going through the chicane entrance although it was my right of way.

The other involved a 4x4 who pulled out of the A40 slip road towards Minster Lovell, but had misjudged the traffic and sat in my lane facing me. These are just two examples of the bad driving I find I am faced with on a daily basis. I know from previous letters to this paper I am not alone in my thinking that the general standard of driving has deteriorated.

Please people just think, life is a journey but let’s not it cut short by this continual lack of responsibility to other road users.
