At last the weather enabled the local derby between Marston Saints and Oxford City to be played. Marston got off to the better start keeping City’s defenders busy.Early pressure eventually paid off with a strike from Joshua Josephs.Marston continued to have the best of the play until half time.
The second half saw a resurgent Oxford City pushing for an equalizer with the game flowing from end to end.Both goal keepers were busy and pulled off some fine saves.Marston scored the crucial second goal when Tom Warner poached a goal in the six yard box.
Despite the two goal lead Marston were never comfortable and city's pressure resulted in a fine looping goal from Jamie Smith with five minutes left to play.City came forward as Marston tried to protect their lead but Marston manage to hold out in a thrilling finale.
