A POLICE officer commandeered a bike from a member of the public and chased a burglary suspect.
Pc James Gunner was called to Burgess Mead, in Jericho, at 2pm yesterday after reports that two men had broken into a house.
As he chased a man along the towpath he grabbed a bike from a passer-by.
Pc Gunner and Pc Pete Deeley arrested a man on suspicion of burglary further along the towpath.
Dua Noah, 20, of Shirley Place, in Jericho, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today charged with burglary in connection with the incident. He was remanded in custody until Tuesday, February 9.
