SUSAN Thomas is right in one thing (Oxford Mail, January 28).
The pirates who kidnapped Paul and Rachel Chandler are only interested in money. To succumb to those demands would be akin to pouring petrol onto a roaring fire – and put many more innocents at risk. The pirates then would have every reason to up their demands and kidnap more often.
