NEWS that Capital Shopping Centres is likely to sell its majority stake in the Westgate Centre must be good news for the stalled West End regeneration.
Momentum towards redeveloping this eyesore has been lost and, every day, Oxford falls further behind other centres in retail appeal.
The Crown Estate, if that is to be the purchaser, will not be buying Westgate to sit on it as it is, so we look forward to some substantial progress after inertia for too long.
