Sir – May I make a suggestion for next year when inevitably the snow falls again?

Coming originally from Massachusetts, a common sight in a snowfall was a rubbish truck with a snowplough attached to the front and a gritter to the back.

These heavy trucks are ideal for snow removal, and the purchase of snow ploughs, plus some gritters and wheel chains, is far less then buying dedicated machinery.

They would plough during a snowfall from early morning, and life could continue.

And who knows, maybe it would enable them to collect our rubbish on a subsequent day as well? We would then feel that our tax money was being used with sense. It’s not rocket science. And it works.
