TWO women have been arrested after windows were smashed at the Bullnose Morris pub in Blackbird Leys.
A 24-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of vandalism following the incident at the Cuddesdon Way pub just after midnight on Boxing Day.
Seven windows were broken and both women were bailed to return to St Aldate’s police station on January 20.
Gordon Smith, area manager for the Bullnose Morris, said: “The windows were mended very quickly and we want to reassure customers that the pub remains open and it is business as usual.”
Vandals also targeted two windows at the Britannia Inn, Headington, on Christmas Day, between 6pm and 7pm.
A spokesman for the Britannia Inn said: “Unfortunately, an incident occurred in which one customer was asked to leave and subsequently smashed two of the pub’s windows.”
No arrests have been made, and formal statements will be taken by police today. Officers said the two incidents were not being linked.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to either incident to call them on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
