OUR stories about Oxford Ixion Motorcycle Club events have brought back many memories.
Former Ixion member Keith Brooks, of Gateley, Horspath, has sent in these two pictures of himself in action, plus an advertisement for the Ixion scramble at Horspath in 1969.
He writes: “The Horspath scrambles were held to raise money for a new village hall.”
The black and white photograph shows Mr Brooks jumping out of a quarry at an Ixion scramble at Bletchingdon in 1971.
The colour picture was taken at Arncott, near Bicester, in 1999 when he rode with sidecar and passenger alongside.
He tells me: “This was before a road accident ended my riding career in 2001 and I took up letter writing.”
