An Oxford cinema closed following a fire yesterday is to reopen.
Fire crews were called to Odeon, on Magdalen Street, after smoke was spotted in the building’s basement at 1.30pm.
Cinema-goers and staff were evacuated but no one was injured.
A spokesman for the Odeon said the cinema was closed as a precaution and is due to reopen at midday. All customers who were evacuated will be given free tickets to another screening.
