SOUTH Central Ambulance Service has moved up to REAP Level Four - meaning there is severe pressure on its service.
All clinical staff have now been told to make themselves available for work as hazardous driving conditions continue to hamper the service's efforts to reach patients as quickly as possible.
A SCAS spokesman advised people to only travel if absolutely necessary, and reminded people that the 999 service should only be used in genuine medical emwergencies.
