With 15 mins of the first match gone, it looked all over for ’Galaxy, as Harwell and Hendred raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Callum Rowe, Tom Craig and Joe Lilley. After the break ’Galaxy finally found their feet and despite going further behind to a Jack Lear goal, pulled two back through Solomon Maasz and Ryan Sagar to give their second side a fighting chance with the deficit now reduced to only two goals.
And what a second match it turned out to be as ’Galaxy quickly pulled another back through Milo Murgatroyd to trail 3-4 overall. Some resolute defending from ’Galaxy’s George Hext, kept the dream alive, as Harwell and Hendred came back strongly. And the visitors looked to have edged it, when a deflected shot from Andrew Francis restored their two goal advantage. Yet ’Galaxy refused to give up hope and a lung bursting performance from Milo Murgatroyd gave the home side the platform to turn it around. Late goals from Jamie Curtis and another from Milo brought the teams level and with both managers beginning to think about a penalty shoot out, a last ditch winner from Hugh Raj-Morlans snatched an unlikely victory for ’Galaxy and a place in the semi finals.
