Kidlington and Appleton played out a seven goal thriller that eventually saw the hosts hold off a determined effort from the vistors to take the spoils.

Colts started brightly and took a two goal lead courtesy of clinical efforts from Max Jones and Olly Hazell.

Appleton pulled one back before the break before Kidlington restored their 2-goal cushion via Olly Kinch.

Again, Appleton came back with a reply, before a fine long distance strike from Miles Ottwell looked to have made the game safe.

This goal seemed to empower Appleton though as they streamed forward to reduce the deficit and despite late pressure could not quite find an equaliser.

Appleton goalscorers were Tom Stockford (2) and Jack Coates.

Both teams should be commended on producing a great game of football that was played in an excellent spirit throughout.
