VOLUNTEERS at an Oxford charity have discovered a family of cats in their store cupboard.

Workers at Orinoco, the Oxfordshire Scrapstore, were surprised to find a mum and her three newborn kittens hidden inside a cardboard box in a storage area.

The workers have been feeding the black and white animals for a week — but now they hope someone will come forward and claim the mother, and her brood.

Jon Stacey, manager of the store at the Bullingdon Community Centre in Peat Moors, Headington, said: “We have some weird and wonderful scrap items but this was quite out of the ordinary.”

Mr Stacey has put up posters in the local area in a bid to track down the owner.

If you think the cats could be yours, call into the store on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, between 11am and 4pm.
