Residents of East Oxford have a second chance to tell the county council that we don’t want the Magdalen Road controlled parking zone.

Seventy per cent said ‘no’ last time, but they ignored us.

Sure, it is a bit difficult to park in the evening but I never fail to find a space within 100 metres of my front door.

The CPZ will give two permits per household and reduce the parking spaces available. It will make parking in the evening more difficult, not less, and during the day traders will suffer, while visitors won’t be able to park, even though there are plenty of spaces.

And how much will we have to pay? £40 per permit, they tell us.

But the county council wants to raise this by £10, even though they are already making profit from every CPZ in Oxford.

So I ask everyone to post back a resounding NO on consultation forms. Sign the petition against. And tell the council we are not going to subsidise their friends in the shire.
