A violent robber is due to appear at the Court of Appeal after prosecutors applied for his sentence to be increased.
Jon Shirley, 23, was handed a six-and-a-half year jail sentence by Oxford Crown Court in June after he was convicted of assaulting a shopkeeper with a handgun, robbing a petrol station at gunpoint and bursting into the home of an elderly couple armed with a meat cleaver.
The Attorney General agreed the sentence could be “unduly lenient”.
Shirley will appear at the Court of Appeal on Wednesday, December 9.
