OXFORD City Council is investigating alleged racial discrimination at a taxi firm.

The move comes after cab drivers of Pakistani descent suggested they were being discriminated against by a colleague.

Oxford City Council is investigating complaints from three drivers at 001 Taxis, who claimed they were racially abused and their working hours were changed.

A spokesman for the St Aldate’s firm said it had launched an internal investigation.

City council spokesman Louisa Dean said: “We have asked all parties concerned to contact us so that we can discuss the matters raised and look to resolve them.”
