I WRITE in response to the letter regarding antisocial student behaviour (Oxford Mail, November 18).

This problem also occurs in Valentia Road, with taxis coming and going all night, and students banging doors, shouting, swearing, and smoking.

It is an absolute nightmare.

To see that the police and stewards praised the students for their behaviour in the city centre on Oxford’s Carnage UK pub crawl was amazing and also very annoying.

Maybe they were well-behaved in the centre, but we were woken at 2am onwards with, again, taxis, banging doors, shouting, and even a delivery of alcohol at 4am by a white van. Just how do they afford it?

This was still going on when my children left for school the same morning and I left for work. We were very tired as we had all been awake since 2am.

They have no respect at all – and how do they find time to study?

It is really horrible living in ‘student land’ and it seems to get worse year after year.
