Police today appealed for a witness to a crash in Cumnor to come forward.

Officers were called to the crash scene at 7.35pm on Tuesday, November 3, after a silver Nissan Primera crashed into a hedge on the Eaton Road, at the junction with the unclassified road that leads to Besselsleigh. The driver had left the scene.

Following a number of local enquiries, police traced the owner of the vehicle, a 46-year-old man, and arrested him on suspicion of drink-driving. He was bailed until Friday, November 27.

PC Ed Turner said: “The woman who reported the collision did not stay at the scene and we have been unable to trace her. It is important that we speak to her as she is a key witness to this collision, so I would urge her to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information, or if you reported the collision, should contact PC Turner at Abingdon Roads Policing base via 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to talk to police, or leave your name, please contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
