OXFORDSHIRE County Council today announced a £16m increase in the cuts it is planning to make.

The council has previously said it would look to cut up to 500 posts in a bid to save £90m from its budget.

This morning a spokesman announced the authority would look at measures including reducing non-essential highway work, reducing the costs of its youth service and reviewing parking charges in a bid to save £106m from its budget.

The council said £75m of the money saved would be reinvested to enable it to deliver services better.
