TWO men were attacked by a gang after a night out in Oxford city centre.

The men, aged 21 and 18, left Que Pasa and were walking along New Road at about 3am on Thursday when they were approached by six men.

They were attacked and punched after the 21-year-old refused to hand over his wallet.

But they fled and the gang walked away in the direction of Bonn Square empty-handed.

Det Sgt Matt Jarman, of Oxford robbery team, said five of the robbers were white and one was black.

He added: “I appeal to anyone who was in this area of the city in the early hours of Thursday morning and saw an altercation to please contact police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
