The bodies of two soldiers killed in Afghanistan will arrive in Oxford this afternoon after being repatriated to the UK.

Their coffins are being flown to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire before being driven to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for a post mortem.

Jim Lewendon, county vice-president of the Royal British Legion, said the cortege was expected in Headley Way, Headington, where people will line up to pay tribute, at about 3.45pm.

Rifleman Samuel Bassett, of 4 Rifles, died in the Sangin region of Helmand Province last Sunday and Rifleman Philip Allen, of 2 Rifles, died near Sangin the day before.
