Recent condemnations of Derek Honey’s letters about Christianity appear to have disgruntled several readers, who have attacked Mr Honey’s letters in a way that is not very Christian.

All religions have one thing in common, and that is that a higher power exists within that religion and its believers should follow the doctrine of that higher power.

Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs but to condemn other religions, or how an individual portrays them, is defying the point of having any religion.

For Christians, the phrase thou shalt not judge springs to mind.

There is an irony in that saying.

Christians should practise forgiveness but in order to offer forgiveness, a judgment must have been passed before forgiveness is practised.

Forgiveness should be an automatic process, except where serious crime has taken place.
