Four firefighters were called to free a duck which had become entangled in a fishing line in Oxford today.
The firecrew from Kidlington was called by the RSPCA at 2.10pm so their inflatable rubber raft could be used to unhook a mallard which was trapped in the middle of a manmade lake in Elizabeth Jennings Way in Summertown.
The mallard, whose wing was trapped in the line, was taken to St Tiggywinkles wildlife hospital in Haddenham near Thame and is expected to make a full recovery.
