MEMBERS of Oxford Pensioners’ Action Group and other pensioners often complain to me that they cannot go from north Oxford to the High Street or the hospitals in Headington by bus.

I wonder whether your readers have heard about the new RH Transport No 700 bus service?

It runs every 15 minutes from Kidlington Grovelands, via Water Eaton Park and Ride and the Summertown shops and Marston Ferry Road up to the John Radcliffe Hospital, then via Gypsy Lane to the Churchill Hospital and the Nuffield Hospital, on to the centre of Headington, then back via Osler Road to the JR, and back to Kidlington.

This same service would enable people to go to the High Street if they got off in Cherwell Drive, Marston, crossed the road, and took the No 13 service, which goes every 10 minutes to the city centre via High Street.

The No 700 service runs from Monday-Friday (not bank holidays) and takes just 25 minutes from Kidlington to the JR, 35 minutes to the Churchill and 40 minutes to the Nuffield.

We pensioners are very pleased that we can go for free on local buses from 9am in the city and from 9.30am in Cherwell district.

We hope this new bus service will be well used by pensioners and paying passengers so that it continues for many years.
