Sir – Local councillors who are engaged in their responsibilities for the benefit of the community are a rare breed.

Most of them are no different to any other politicians who are claiming enormous expense allowances for their own benefit and the people they represent can swivel.

An example is the Green party who are more concerned with banning convenient air travel from Kidlington, than banning the 1.5 million vehicles, many of which are parked on their own doorstep with no valid road tax or insurance. Neither are they in the least bit concerned about animal farming contributing more greenhouse gas to the environment than all forms of transport worldwide.

This was pointed out to party members back in May during the elections. None of them bothered to reply.
