Sir – For those of us living in central Headington, the relocation positions of bus stops in central Oxford is bizarre.

The 8s, 9s and 7s to Barton have a bus stop in Castle Street, while the 400 Park and ride bus stop to Thornhill (via Headington) is situated in St Aldates near Carfax. The Brookes U1 (also via central Headington) bus stop is located halfway along the High Street. We take pot luck as to where we queue. The lucky Bus Pass holders amongst us, catch any bus, probably a Cowley one, from St Aldates to Queen’s Lane, where we can pick up either an 8, 9, 7, 400 or U1.

Poor city council is having to foot the bill for two tickets back from the city to Headington instead of one! Oh how I miss those stops in Queen Street where we could catch any of the buses to Headington.

I have not set foot in Queen Street for shopping since the bus stops were moved.
