Nine burglaries in south Oxfordshire are believed to have been committed by the same people.

Police today appealed for information after a spate of break-ins on Friday.

Houses were broken into in High Street, Lewknor; Oakley Lane, Chinnor; Spring Lane, Watlington; Chinnor Road and Butts Way, Aston Rowant; a farmhouse in Christmas Common, near Watlington; two houses in Stoke Row; and one in Lower Shiplake, near Henley.

Two white youths, aged about 16 to 18, were spotted in the areas at the time of the burglaries.

Police said it was possible they could have been in a small blue vehicle.

Det Sgt Frankie Jarvis said: “I suspect these burglaries could be linked and I’m keen to catch those responsible.

“In most of the burglaries the thieves stole mainly cash and jewellery.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen the two men or any suspicious activity in the area to contact the police."

Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
