A 17-YEAR-OLD youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of robberies in Oxford.
The robbery charges relate to two incidents that took place in the city centre on Sunday when a 45-year-old Swedish man and 46-year-old Swedish woman were forced to hand over money at knifepoint in Merton Street at about 7.40pm.
Shortly afterwards, at about 7.50pm, a 17-year-old Swedish boy was made to hand over his wallet at knifepoint in Magpie Lane.
A third offence, an attempted robbery, took place in Christ Church Meadow on Tuesday.
The teenager was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court later today.
