John Tanner is talking the stuff which goes down the toilet, with the proposals to close so many badly needed facilities.
He says the council needs to save £50,000 a year, then continues singing the praises of the toilets on the ground floor of the Town Hall. If that is so, then closing them would save a big proportion of the £50,000, as Edward Woollard writes (Oxford Mail ViewPoints, July 6).
Mr Tanner’s intransigence is hard to accept, especially as he disagrees with the direct election of a mayor for the city.
And while the consultation process is proceeding, perhaps Mr Tanner would also consider the lack of disabled toilets, to boot.
