THERE are few words of comfort that anyone could possibly offer Alastair McKnight.
This time last year he was a fit and healthy 64-year-old man, enjoying his work as a gardener before a horrific tractor accident saw him lose his left leg and severely damage his arm.
He has battled back from his unimaginable injuries, surviving an MRSA scare along the way, to soldier on in a spirit that is truly inspirational.
Fitted with a prosthetic leg, Mr McKnight is slowly learning to walk all over again.
There are many to whom Mr McKnight attributes his remarkable recovery, but the determination to carry on in a situation where many would have accepted defeat only comes from within.
We wish him well.
