Police are seeking two hooded men after an attempted burglary in Little Bourton, near Banbury.
The incident took place at about 10.30pm yesterday when two men wearing dark clothing and hooded jackets knocked on the door of a house in the village.
When a woman opened the door, they pushed past her, only to be confronted by a 61-year-old man, at which point they ran off.
The would-be burglars had their faces covered and wore rucksacks on their back. One was carrying a beige holdall.
