Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Little Bourton, near Banbury, yesterday.
At around 10.30pm, two offenders knocked on the door of an address in the village.
As a woman opened the door they pushed their way past her into the house. The other occupant, a 61-year-old man, confronted the men who then ran out of the house.
The offenders were wearing dark clothing and hooded jackets. They had their faces covered and wore rucksacks on their back. One of them was also carrying a beige holdall. They both spoke with English accents.
Det Sgt Gavin Collier said: “I appeal to anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the village yesterday evening to contact police immediately.
“Thankfully the men didn’t get away with anything but this was obviously a very frightening experience to the couple living at the address.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Sgt Collier via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
