HUNDREDS of parents and their children enjoyed a day of fun in the sun in Oxford to help a support group for grieving families.

Saturday’s event was held at the Oxsrad sports centre, in Marsh Lane, Marston, to raise money for the Grieving Parents Support Group.

Among the atttractions were quad-biking, go-karting and pony rides, enjoyed by one-year-old Remy Adeniran, pictured riding Tali.

Mark and Sarah Roberts, from Hawksmoor Road, Cutteslowe, set up the support network after they lost their 20-month-old son Matthew, in an accident eight years ago.

They said there had been little support available to them and they wanted to use their experience to help others.

The charity almost had to close last year, due to a lack of money, but Mr Roberts, 64, said he hoped Saturday’s event, attended by about 400 people, would have raised about £1,200.
