A BELL which had hung in the old village school was transferred to the new school, in Westbrook Street, in 1980. The bell, cast in Oxford in 1854, was refurbished and pupils at St Birinus School, Didcot, built a frame for it to hang on in the new school.

The next picture was one that appeared on the front of the programme produced for the week-long village festival in 1975. It was designed to illustrate the wide range of attractions on offer.

Sian Long, 10, was chosen as Miss Blewbury Princess for the festival that year. She beat 27 girls for the title in a contest in the village hall. Mary-Ann Blackie and Tessa Wade were her attendants.
