IN RESPONSE to Ed Vaizey MP on his assumption of how the public would agree that a man in his particular job would need a second home to help him complete his tasks, I’d like to tell him he’s wrong.

We don’t agree you should have this luxury, especially if we have to help fund it.

Millions of workers, from the building industry to office workers, all travel long distances from their homes to go to work and do this day in, day out – some under arduous conditions to do work which benefits the country.

What is it that makes Mr Vaizey think he’s in such a high position above all us mere mortals? All that is needed is for Mr Vaizey to get off his backside a little earlier each day and join the real workers of this country in the journey to and from your place of employment. Leave the extra money he has claimed to be used for a much worthier cause.

He might even find that people would be more likely to trust and vote for him.

What Mr Vaizey and his fellow MPs have to remember is, the public have very good and long memories and I’m 100 per cent sure, deep down in our minds, many MPs will never be trusted again!
