This week is Transplant Week, a subject close to my heart as in 1995 I received a new liver. Obviously the transplant was successful and although I have to take suitable medication, I am fortunate enough to enjoy a reasonably full life, thanks to the transplant team at Addenbrookes Hospital and to the thoughtfulness of the family of the donor.
I would like to ask all your readers to take a couple of minutes to join the British Liver Trust’s campaign for people to sign up to the Organ Donation Register.
If you sign up, your organs could be used in the future to give someone a second chance of life.
It is easy and simple to do,just call 0300 123 2323 or visit organdonation.nhs.uk.
Two minutes of your time could mean you save a life.
You can find out more information about liver transplants and how they may have saved people’s lives at britishlivertrust.org.uk.
