Primary school pupil contracts swine flu

A pupil at an Oxfordshire Primary School has contracted swine flu.

Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust confirmed yesterday a pupil at Church Cowley St James Church of England Primary School, in Oxford, had tested positive for the Influenza A (H1N1) virus.

The school will not be closing as the pupil did not present any symptoms while at school.

The pupil is being treated with anti -viral drugs and is responding well to treatment.

The Oxfordshire PCT said the latest case brings the total number of Oxfordshire cases to 18, although it had released 15 as the previous figure total.
