SINGER Callum Livermore is staging a cabaret show at his Bicester secondary school on Wednesday to raise money to fund the next step in his career.

The 18-year-old, who leaves Bicester Community College this summer, needs to raise more than £11,000 to pay for his performing arts foundation course in singing at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts from October.

Callum, from Bicester, said: “I’ve had a lot of support from the Performing Arts Department at college to help me follow my dream. When I felt I wasn’t good enough they helped me believe in myself and encouraged me to persevere.

“I’m so thrilled to be accepted at LIPA and touched that my friends at college are helping me.“We love to put on a great show and nobody will be disappointed. All money raised will go towards my tuition.”

The youngster has played the lead roles in productions of Les Miserables and High School Musical at the Queen’s Avenue school.

Callum said: “Sadly my course is self-funded. I need to raise £8,000 for the course and an additional £3,000 for accommodation for a year and funds to cover my daily living expenses.”

He said: “The idea for the show came when I was asked by friends if I would be giving a farewell performance.

“The desire to do this combined with the need to raise funds for my course was the inspiration I needed to get everybody on board.”

Wednesday’s show will be held in the College’s lower school hall, from 7pm.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and available on the door.
